Case: Goloo

A film that gives community and sustainability a voice

An animated film that makes technology human

Goloo works with products that combine technology, usability and innovation – but which can be difficult to explain using only text and traditional images. Their solutions contain multiple functions and processes that can be complex for the average user to decode, especially without prior technical knowledge. To solve this communication challenge, Goloo wanted a film that could create clarity, engagement and understanding in a single visual universe.

Therefore, the choice fell on a 3D animated product film that can show every element of the product in an intuitive and visually appealing way – both inside and out. Animation allows you to tell the story behind the product in a way that people can easily understand, regardless of their level of expertise. The purpose of the film was not just to show how the product works, but to create a narrative that makes Goloo’s technology present, concrete and meaningful.

Visualizing complex products with empathy

Goloo wanted to show how their products work in practice, but the technical parts and invisible processes are hard to capture with regular video recording. For example, Softloo is an inflatable pelvis that needs to be filled with air to function properly – but how do you visualize this clearly and pedagogically? For UniLOO, an inflatable urinal, it was important to show how it is stabilized with side stabilizers and closes tightly against the body. Easyloo gets tape straps that attach the product to a toilet seat and Gowash is used for washing – but all these features require a visual explanation that is both technically correct and compassionate, so healthcare professionals and users understand the product’s benefits without feeling overwhelmed.

At the same time, it is essential for Goloo to maintain a respectful and empathetic tone. They work with patients who may be vulnerable or dependent on help, and the communication must not seem cold or clinical. Therefore, the challenge was not only to explain functionality, but to do so with humanity and dignity.

Animation as a powerful educational tool

We designed an animation universe that harmonizes with the brand identity of Softloo: clean, soft, and calm. The animation is structured so that we can “zoom in” on the structures of the products – showing how Softloo inflates, how the insert absorbs liquid and turns it into gel, and how Uniloo’s stabilizers work.

  • The viewer understands not just what the products are, but how and why they are used.

  • The emotional aspect is emphasized – the patient’s comfort, the caregiver’s work routine, the hygiene.

  • The animation can show the “invisible”: how the insert absorbs, how air is blown in and out, and how the product is closed and destroyed.

We used a combination of motion graphics and isometric 3D style to give depth but keep simplicity. The colors were muted and warm to signal calm and comfort. The pace was carefully controlled – each movement and transition gives the viewer time to absorb information without feeling overwhelmed.

From concept to real communication tool

Production began with a workshop where we went through each Goloo product with the company’s engineers and designers. Here we identified the key functions – e.g. inflation, closure, absorption – and decided which scenarios the film should illustrate. We then developed a storyboard that carefully balances technical explanations with human context.

In the animation phase, we worked on modeling the “insides” of the products: we showed components such as the inlay, valve mechanisms, and the inflatable rings. Each animation was adjusted in close dialog with Goloo to ensure that the technology is shown correctly and realistically, and that the visual expression reflects the soft, human nature of the product.

Once the movie was finished, Goloo had a communication tool with enormous flexibility. They can use it for:

  • Sales: presenting the products to potential customers, such as hospitals or municipalities

  • Web: have an explainer video that illustrates the product’s features when you visit their site

  • Internal training: use the film to train staff on how to use the products correctly

  • Marketing: share the animation on social media or in campaigns to explain their mission and products in a visually engaging way

This animated film makes Goloo’s complex products accessible and understandable, strengthening their brand and increasing the chance of more institutions discovering their solutions.

A visual tool that elevates Goloo’s communication

By combining Goloo’s technical products – Softloo, Easyloo, UniLOO and Gowash – with creative, sensitive and educational animation, we have created a film that makes technology human and meaningful. The animation allows us to show how the products work “behind the scenes” while maintaining a respectful tone and warm expression.

The result is a powerful visual communication tool that Goloo can use to explain, sell and train – bringing their mission and products to the world in a way that invites understanding, confidence and trust.
